What do we do

Working on cooperation since 1986.

Fons Català develops projects that can be classified into a series of thematic areas that incorporate the intersectional human rights- and gender-based approach, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals. These areas are addressed from a local-global perspective, emphasising territory interdependence, the need to forge alliances, and shared responsibility for the socio-economic and environmental impacts of current problems.

Development Cooperation

At Fons Català we have signed agreements with different city councils and supra-municipal bodies to support them in the management of their own calls for subsidies for development cooperation projects.

Humanitarian Action and Emergencies

At Fons Català, we promote and coordinate emergency campaigns to respond to the needs arising from the effects of natural disasters or armed conflicts all over the world.

Education for Global Justice

Education for Global Justice is one of the pillars of Fons Català’s work. Its objective is to question, reflect on, and transform in a critical manner the existing political, economic, and social model, which generates structural violence, inequality, and social injustices.

European Projects

At the European Projects Area, we look for opportunities to access European and international funding and we manage projects in consortium with European and worldwide actors. We also bring European calls closer to partner local bodies, accompany them, and we promote their participation.

Evaluations

Evaluations are a service that Fons Català makes available for their partners. The objective of the Evaluation Unit is to bring more coherence, quality, and visibility to the work carried out by Fons Català in Catalonia, the Spanish State, Europe, and countries from the global south in which the entity intervenes.

Technical Cooperation

Technical cooperation allows for different municipal departments to become cross-sectional and increases the added value of local cooperation.
