Development cooperation projects

The support we carry out at Fons Català includes the elaboration of the basis for calls, the analysis of submitted projects, counselling to entities, the monitoring of approved projects, or the control of justifications.

Every project managed at Fons Català must be financially supported by at least a partner city council. If there are other stakeholders, these can be added. City councils which do not have their own calls for subsidies can collaborate directly with other projects already started.

At Fons Català control and monitor projects and the correct allocation of the funds provided. In this sense, implementing entities must submit reports on the development of the project regularly and a final report. Fons Català’s commitment with the projects goes beyond funding: we keep an open dialogue with implementing entities and institutions to guarantee their correct development.

In the regions where there is a large number of projects, the creation of permanent offices on site facilitates the monitoring and coordination of these projects. Currently, Fons Català has an office in Costa Rica and another one in Senegal.

In the regions where it is not possible to maintain a permanent office, the people in charge of each area travel there regularly to visit and evaluate the development of the projects and keep in contact with the implementing local organisations.

The information collected in the monitoring reports, both written and graphic information, is transferred to the monitoring sheet of each project and submitted to every administration that has directly collaborated from a financial perspective.
